7 Foot Soak Recipes To Re-Energize & Re-Invigorate

How much do you love your feet? Chances are, if you are like most people, your feet get short-changed when it comes to TLC. Well, if your feet are crying for attention, here are 7 homemade foot soak recipes that are sure to relax and re-energize your tootsies.

Peppermint Foot Soak

Peppermint has an invigorating impact on both skin and muscles and can reduce inflammation bringing relief to sore and tired feet.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • ½ tablespoon coconut oil
  • 4 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 4 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
  • 2 drops of lemon essential oil

Instructions

  • Boil water and allow it to cool
  • Add the oils
  • Soak your feet for about twenty minutes and pat dry
  • Follow up with a light layer of coconut oil and put on some cozy socks

Chamomile Tea Foot Soak

Research shows that chamomile has a very similar impact on cells as  does anti-inflammatory drugs.  Chamomile can also help moisturize feet and heal dry and damaged skin.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • 6 chamomile tea bags
  • ½ cup Epsom salt
  • 5 drops lavender essential oil
  • 3 tablespoons of raw honey

Instructions

  1. Boil water for the basin and place the teabags in the basin – let them sit for about five minutes and remove
  2. Add the Epsom salt, lavender oil and honey
  3. Soak your feet for twenty minutes
  4. Pat dry and follow up with a light layer of coconut oil for moisturizer

Coffee Foot Soak

Soaking your tired feet in a coffee foot bath is refreshing and comforting at the same time.  Not to mention how wonderful it smells.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • 1 cup raw honey
  • ½ cup Epsom salts
  • 2 cups brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. Fill the basin with hot water
  2. Add the Epsom salt, coffee and raw honey
  3. Soak your feet for twenty minutes, pat dry
  4. Follow with a light layer of coconut oil for moisturizer

Baking Soda Soak

If your feet smell after being locked up in your shoes all day, this baking soda soak is just right for you. Baking soda has potent antibacterial properties and can help reduce excessive perspiration from the bottom of the feet. The rice water will help with circulation. Add your favorite essential oil.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • ½ cup rice
  • water
  • 3 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 10 drops tea tree oil

Instructions

  1. Boil the rice in enough water that you have 2-3 cups of rice water left over
  2. Add the baking soda and the tea tree oil
  3. Allow the water to cool a bit and soak feet for 10 -15 minutes
  4. Remove your feet, pat dry and moisturize

Bentonite Clay Foot Soak

Bentonite clay has a soothing and detoxifying effect on tired feet. This is also a beneficial foot soak if you have stiff joints or sore muscles. This foot bath will even help moisturize dry and cracked heels which can be tremendously painful.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • Rosemary essential oil
  • 2 cups of bentonite clay

Instructions

  1. Fill the basin with 8 inches of warm water
  2. Add the rosemary oil and clay
  3. Soak feet for about 15 minutes, remove and pat dry
  4. Follow up with a moisturizer

Coconut Milk Foot Soak

Coconut milk is loaded with vitamins and minerals that will soothe tired and sore feet. If your feet need nourishment, nothing beats this deliciously creamy foot soak.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with water
  • 1 cup organic coconut milk
  • 10 drops of clove essential oil

Instructions

  1. Fill the basin with warm water
  2. Add the coconut milk and the essential oil
  3. Soak feet for about 15 minutes, remove and pat dry
  4. Follow up with a moisturizer

Apple Cider Vinegar Foot Soak

Known for its detoxifying properties, apple cider vinegar is also beneficial for improving circulation and healing rough and dry skin.

Ingredients

  • Basin that you can fill with warm water
  • 2 cups of apple cider vinegar

Instructions:

  1. Fill the basin with warm water
  2. Add the apple cider vinegar
  3. Soak you feet for about 15 minutes, remove and pat dry
  4. Follow up with a moisturizer

Note: If you have open wounds on your skin the vinegar may sting

Tip:  Experiment with different essential oils such as lavender, lemon, orange, mint or eucalyptus. Also, try adding some smooth river rocks or marbles to the bottom of your basin to rub your feet over while they are soaking.
